Meet our ARTistas

ARTistas are the creatives behind all things Artpost!

They are your teachers, organizers, storytellers and encouragers. Whether for shopping, classes, markets, or to just hangout, these are the smiling faces you can expect to see each time you come to the shop.

Holly B. Phelan Johnson

As an art history major, Holly has always found joy in all aspects of art, not just looking at it or analyzing it, but making it as well. She has always encouraged her family & friends to test the waters of creating, to not be afraid of making a mistake, because the beauty in creating is, there are no mistakes. With an interest in a variety of mediums, she has been making art for years and teaching those around her. So the idea of a shared art experience for all to enjoy came out of that, and HappymessArt was born. She welcomes you to join in this experience.

Shirlie Phelan

As a North Carolina native I’ve spent most of my life exploring my passion for creativity through different lenses. I love to travel and make art in the different mediums I've picked up along the way. I’ve been involved in the local art scene for 10+ years and love collaborating and finding new inspirations within the Durham community.

Morgan Riker

I received my Bachelors of Fine Art from The University of Tulsa in 2008. I have spent the last 7 years teaching kids from the ages of 1-15, and most of that was spent in art education. During that time I also earned my K-12 Art license. I'm not happy or fulfilled if I'm not spending a large chunk of my time loving on kids! In my personal time I love spending time with ceramics, jewelry making, screen printing, photography, and anything that lets me play outside!

Christy Holton

Christy is a Durham native, who loves to paint all kinds of landscapes and specializes in pet portraits. She received her degree in Art Education from North Carolina Central University. Her work can be found in private residences all over Durham and beyond. She loves gardening, hiking, and portraying the art found in the natural world: plants and trees, people, and animals.

Sarah Glickman

Born in the Bronx and raised in Rhode Island, Sarah found her way to NC when she came to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology at UNC Chapel Hill. She has always had a passion for creating, so after college she decided to take some time to focus on this passion. She now sells her art at local markets, galleries, and online, and loves helping others connect with their creativity in order to experience the magic of expressing yourself through art!
